About the role

Howe Farming Enterprises Pty Ltd in Mareeba, Queensland, is seeking a skilled Tradesman Mechanic / Diesel Fitter to join our team. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of agricultural and heavy machinery in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on a range of farm equipment, including tractors, harvesters, vehicles, RTVs and other machinery
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues, and implementing effective solutions
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, in compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
  • Maintaining detailed records of work performed and parts used
  • Collaborating with the broader team to support the efficient operation of the farming enterprise

What we're looking for

  • Formal qualifications in automotive or diesel mechanics, such as a Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience as a Mechanic or Diesel Fitter
  • Strong technical skills, good problem-solving and critical thinking skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
  • A valid driver's licence and the ability to operate a range of farm machinery and equipment
