Experienced Speech Pathologist (Adolescents & Adults)

Description

We are seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist with a passion for working with teens and adults. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessment and providing high-quality therapeutic supports to adolescents and adults experiencing difficulties with communication and feeding. You will work with a diverse population addressing challenges such as aphasia, dysarthria, voice disorders, and social communication difficulties, while tailoring treatment plans to meet individual needs.

As an experienced Speech Pathologist, you will leverage evidence-based practices and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Your expertise will not only facilitate treatment and recovery but also enhance the quality of life for our clients, empowering them to communicate and engage with the community.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive clinical experience, a strong understanding of adult speech therapy techniques, and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments in the areas of speech, language, social communication, AAC, and feeding.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessments results and family input.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to enhance communication and feeding skills.
  • Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate clients and their families on communication/feeding strategies and techniques.
  • Develop comprehensive written summary reports to inform provision of future supports.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and address related health issues.
  • Stay current with emerging research, trends, and best practices in speech pathology for adults.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Minimum 3 years experience working as a Speech Pathologist
  • Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Valid Driver's license
  • NDIS worker's screening check
  • Strong understanding of language development, speech disorders, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 16 – 38 per week
