About the role

As the General Manager, People Services and Capability, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and development of the Department by delivering high-quality, professional, and customer-focused human resource services to the Executive Leadership Group (ELG), Directors, and line managers.

The role:

  • Provides professional high level human resource advice to the Director General and the Executive

  • Participates in the strategic planning and business plans to implement the Department's objectives

  • Represents the Department on forums and tribunals and negotiates with stakeholders including central agencies and union representatives.

Essential requirements for this role:

  • Demonstrated practical experience in leading and managing the service delivery of a broad range of human resource functions

  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, developing and implementing innovative management strategies to meet business needs.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing multidiscipline teams during periods of change.
