About Us:

At Ballarat Tractors and Meltrac Machinery, we pride ourselves on being a leading dealership of New Holland agricultural machinery, parts, maintenance and repair services. With over 35 years of partnering our agricultural customers and a strong commitment to the farming and regional community, we are looking to expand our team of skilled professionals. We are seeking an Agricultural Diesel Mechanic or someone with on the job mechanical experience with experience in a range of tractors, balers and headers.

Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for agricultural machinery, a motivated mindset and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair and service a variety of agricultural machinery, including tractors, harvesters, baler, and other farm equipment in our workshop and in the field.
  • Must be willing to undertake occasional field service work, travelling to customer sites and farms to perform on-site repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and engine tune-ups.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to identify issues and ensure proper functioning of machinery.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to ensure efficient operations and timely repairs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, explaining technical issues and solutions to clients when needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a with Heavy Machinery, with a strong focus on agricultural machinery - Apprentices will be considered.
  • Knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, and related components.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Relevant certifications or training in diesel mechanics or agricultural technology is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • A valid driver's license
  • Australian work rights are required for this position.
