At Leela Care Services, we have specialised in providing services and support to people with disabilities. Our aim is to assist our participants in the pursuit of their life choices, either in their own home or the community, to enable greater quality of life experiences.
Services we offer include in-home assistance, accommodation support and everyday life skills development both on a one-to-one basis and through group support options.
We are in search for enthusiastic and reliable Support Workers to support participants with complex behaviours.
Casual and Part-Time Positions available
The Role:
As a Support Worker with Leela Care, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care of Participants with physical disabilities and/or mental illness. Our staff enable our participants to reach their full potential by achieving their individual goals.
A day in the life of a Leela Care Support Worker includes:
- Providing community access to clients e.g. transport to appointments and facilitating community outings.
- Providing personalised care to our clients
- Catering to day to day domestic duties with in the group homes
- Ensuring the proper documentation of all activities including incidents, medication protocols and any other company/industry procedures
- Adhereing to the WHS policies at all times
- Adhoc duties as required by management
Prior experience working in Mental Health - Dementia will be highly regarded. To be successful, you must:
- Have an excellent work ethic, strong written and verbal communication skills and can work efficiently autonomously and as part of a team
- Take initiative in day to day activities with the willlingness to tackle challenges and ability to problem solve
- Be fit, energetic, and display enthusiasm to our clients
- Have a background in nursing and/or previous experience supporting a variety of NDIS participants with mental illness, intellectual and physical disabilities
Licence/Certification:
- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support / Disability / Community Services
- Driver's Licence.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- NSW Working with Children's Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
