We are seeking an experienced Network Automation Engineer to join a high-profile software-defined infrastructure project within a secure Federal Government environment.

This is not a traditional "rack and stack" networking role. Instead, you'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering squad to design, develop, and automate the integration of multi-vendor network and infrastructure products into a cutting-edge software-defined data centre (SDDC).

  • Minimum NV1 Security Clearance mandatory, OSA (current or under process) highly desirable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions for networking and infrastructure.
  • Automate provisioning and configuration using Python, Ansible (custom modules), and Terraform.
  • Integrate software components via modern CI/CD toolchains (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Participate in design sessions, code reviews, and test-driven development.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure squads and the Chief Engineer to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
  • Produce high-quality technical and process documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement, automation, and optimisation initiatives.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
  • Hands-on Ansible experience (playbooks, roles, custom modules).
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, firewalls, multi-vendor environments).
  • Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git/GitLab).
  • Familiarity with software-defined infrastructure (SDN/SDDC).

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes and AWS/Azure cloud environments.
  • Agile project delivery experience.
  • Strong written documentation skills and a security-first mindset.
