About the role

Due to growth in the department, we are seeking a skilled Biostatistician to provide high-level consultancy and hands-on expertise across a diverse portfolio of clinical and non-clinical research projects.

In this role, you will apply statistical methods to the design (including sample size), data analysis and interpretation of results, of research projects for groups based and affiliated with the Ingham Institute.

About You

Essential criteria

  • Relevant degree in statistical, mathematics, public health, or medical science, plus postgraduate qualification in biostatistics, statistics or equivalent experience.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate statistical results clearly.

  • Extensive hands-on experience in biostatistics and advanced statistical modelling techniques.

  • Proficiency in at least one common statistical software (e.g. SAS, R, Stata, SPSS), including programming and macro writing.

  • Solid understanding of clinical trial methodologies, including randomisation and interim analyses.

  • Skilled in communicating complex statistical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Sound knowledge of research design, epidemiological methods, and survey sampling techniques.

  • Proven experience in data management, manipulation, and ensuring data privacy.

  • Demonstrated scientific writing skills and a track record of research publications.

  • Familiarity with reproducible research principles and collaborative research environments.
