Grounded is delivering one of the region's largest commercial projects, and we're looking for an experienced Project Engineer to take charge on the ground.
This is a permanent position. The current roster is Monday to Friday, whether you're based locally or working on a DIDO arrangement from Perth to Bunbury. It's a rare opportunity to lead a major build and be part of a company that delivers with Trust, Passion, and Care.
About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering project activities from start to finish. Working closely with the Project Manager, site team, subcontractors, and clients, you'll oversee technical documentation, quality assurance, and cost control. Your expertise will help ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, maintaining our commitment to quality and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage quality project items, such as ITPs and ITRs.
- Perform on-site quality inspections of earthworks, concrete pours, structural installations, and other civil components.
- Maintain detailed records of all inspections, tests, and quality-related activities.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, construction specifications, and material approvals to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure all construction documentation is up to date, including as-built drawings, quality records, and project reports.
- Provide progress reports and quality compliance updates to the Project Manager and key stakeholders.
- Liaise daily with the Construction Manager / Site Supervisors to ensure project programs are being met.
- Assist with general construction coordination and supervision to ensure project delivery aligns with company standards.
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure materials and construction methods align with project requirements.
- Assist in the RFI (Request for Information) process, ensuring design clarifications and updates are communicated effectively.
- Design coordination with trades, clients, and consultants.
- Procurement of materials as required to suit project requirements.
- Assist the Project Manager and Contract Administrator to complete the project in accordance with contract documentation, company standards, and procedures.
- Demonstrate a commitment to onsite safety and environmental control by ensuring compliance with Project Risk Analysis and JHAs.
- Stop unsafe/incorrect work practices whenever identified.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant qualification in Civil / Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years' experience in civil or construction engineering with a strong focus on quality assurance and compliance.
- Proven knowledge of Australian Standards, ITPs, ITRs, and construction specifications.
- Experience working on mining, resources, or remote infrastructure projects.
- Strong practical knowledge of earthworks, concrete structures, foundations, structural steel installations, tilt-up panels, post-tensioning systems, and major concrete pours.
