An established national retail organisation with a strong footprint across Australia is seeking a skilled Maintenance & Fit Out Person to join the VIC team. About the Role

This hands-on role will suit an experienced and versatile tradesperson with a background in carpentry, joinery, or general maintenance/fit outs. The position covers a broad range of responsibilities, from general maintenance and repair through to supporting retail fit out projects.

The role can be structured either as a full-time permanent position or as a contract engagement through your own ABN, offering flexibility depending on your preference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across retail facilities
  • Deliver fit out works including carpentry, joinery, and refurbishment tasks
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish, ensuring high-quality outcomes
  • Manage subcontractors, trades, staff, and equipment when required
  • Provide practical solutions to onsite challenges, ensuring safety and efficiency
  • Support layout adjustments and small-scale fit outs across retail sites
  • Undertake ad-hoc maintenance as directed
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Travel to multiple sites across Vic as required

Skills and Experience

  • Trade qualification (carpentry/joinery or equivalent) highly desirable
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar maintenance or fit out role
  • Strong practical knowledge of tools, power tools, and general maintenance works
  • Physically fit and able to work independently
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport essential
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment
  • Experience managing subcontractors and delivering site-based projects
