JOB TITLE: Public Area Cleaner(Overnight Shift)

DIVISION: ROOMS DIVISION

DEPARTMENT: HOUSEKEEPING

RESPONSIBLE TO: EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER

FUNCTION:

To maintain all public and back-of-house areas in an orderly, clean, and polished condition during the overnight shift, with a particular focus on floor polishing and cleanliness throughout the hotel's public spaces.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Shift: Between 11:00pm – 6:00pm (Typically 4 Hour shift)

Days: As rostered, including weekends and public holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all public and back-of-house areas during overnight hours.
  • Perform routine and detailed floor polishing and maintenance in all public areas including lobbies, hallways, entrances, and lifts.
  • Check and clean all public restrooms throughout the shift to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
  • Ensure hotel entrances, walkways, and boulevard-level outdoor areas remain clean and debris-free.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the gymnasium and ensure equipment is sanitized and the area is tidy.
  • Clean and inspect lifts regularly to ensure they remain presentable and safe.
  • Ensure the Housekeeping Storeroom is kept clean and organized.
  • Report any malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needs promptly to the Maintenance Department.
  • Follow all OH&S procedures and safety protocols, including proper use of floor care equipment and chemicals.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal grooming and professional appearance during the shift.
  • Greet any late-night guests courteously and professionally, maintaining a polite and appropriate demeanor.
  • Participate in monthly departmental meetings and any required training sessions.
  • Assist other departments during the night shift if requested by the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
