Jenny's Kindergarten and Early Learning Centres are a growing organisation with many established and award winning early childhood centres across NSW. When you join our organisation, you join a team who are dedicated and committed to putting the education and development of our children first and foremost.

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Centre Cook to join our Mortlake team. As the Cook, you willbe responsible for the health and wellbeing of the children at the Centre through the planning and preparation of appealing and nutritious meals and snacks whilst maintaining a well organised routine of hygienic food preparation, storage and cleaning. We are looking for a Centre Cook, working part-time Monday-Friday, 4 hours per day.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and preparing nutritious meals for children on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring that the meals prepared meet the special dietary needs of the children with allergies and cultural preferences.
  • Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks.
  • Order food supplies in line with menus and within service budget and check of food deliveries made to the Centre.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold qualifications in Commercial Cookery or certificates in Menu Planning & Nutrition along with Safe Food Handling.
  • Have completed, or be willing to complete, a Working With Children Check.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in cooking meals within a childcare centre, hospital, aged care facility or similar environment.
