What you will be doing in this role
Reporting to the Director of Specialties, this role will lead strategic initiatives to enhance maternity service performance, access, and patient experience. You will work alongside dedicated teams, finding meaningful ways to foster growth, improve care, and create a supportive, sustainable workforce.
You will identify new opportunities by analysing market trends and developing strategies that help increase patient volumes, referral pathways, and revenue. Collaborating with executives, obstetricians, clinical leaders, and business development on service planning and expansion.
Your role will involve keeping an eye on financial forecasts, analysing activity data, KPIs, and outcomes to inform service improvement and aligns with billing practices, funding models, and regulations. You will monitor and report on the effectiveness of the Maternity Clinical Services Plan.
This is a key role where you will help create a positive workplace culture, champion patient-centred care, and ensure that patient feedback drives continuous service improvements, ultimately helping us offer the very best care to families when they need it most.
Who we're looking for
- You will be a values-driven leader with proven experience in healthcare leadership roles, including a strong understanding of maternity care, patient experience, and service delivery in hospitals.
- Knowledge of NSQHS Standards and clinical governance in maternity services.
- Successful track record in business development and service expansion. Experience leading change and business transformation initiatives.
- Financial literacy, including budgeting, forecasting, and funding compliance. Ability to analyse data (KPIs, reports, market trends) to guide decisions.
- Excellent at building relationships with clinical teams, executives, and community groups.
- Experience with financial oversight, including billing compliance and liaising with health funds.
- Experience in workforce planning and fostering positive workplace culture.
- Postgraduate qualification in health management, leadership, or related field (preferred).
- Project management training or experience (preferred)
- AHPRA registration (preferred).
