The Executive Clinical Director of Research will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the research agenda across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). This senior leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing research strategy, governance and policy, fostering a culture of research excellence, and strengthening academic and industry partnerships. The successful candidate will lead translational, high-impact research that aligns with ISLHD's vision, ensuring effective research ethics, governance and performance monitoring. Working closely with clinician researchers and the Research Office team, the Executive Clinical Director will champion innovation, professional research standards and capacity building. The role requires exceptional leadership in securing funding, managing intellectual property, and advancing collaborative initiatives that embed research within clinical practice and service delivery.

The Executive Clinical Director of Research will foster strong working relationships and the partnership between ISLHD and University of Wollongong (UOW) and other research partners, for advancing research within and between these partner organisations in the region, and for ensuring there is a vibrant research culture across the community.

There will be an opportunity for the successful applicant to apply for honorary title with UOW and potentially to take on an academic role with UOW.
