Location: Brisbane base / Australia wide
Job Type: Casual – 3 weeks on and 1 week off
Salary: $32.84 / hr + Overtime & Travel Allowances
Start Date: October 2025
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mapping Survey Vehicle Driver to operate a specially equipped vehicle used for geographic data collection. You will play a key role in supporting mapping, GIS, and infrastructure projects by driving pre-assigned routes while collecting high-accuracy geospatial data using specialized equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a mapping survey vehicle across urban, rural, and remote areas.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure full area coverage.
- Monitor and maintain survey equipment (e.g., 360° cameras, LiDAR sensors, GPS units).
- Perform daily equipment checks and basic troubleshooting.
- Accurately log completed routes and survey progress.
- Communicate with the technical team for data upload and issue reporting.
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and safe operation at all times.
Requirements
- Valid Australian driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable with long hours of driving and working independently.
- Good understanding of GPS navigation and digital maps.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to schedule.
- Basic tech literacy; ability to operate tablets, GPS units, and data-logging devices.
- Physically able to get in and out of a vehicle frequently and lift light equipment.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in survey, mapping, or fleet driving.
- Familiarity with GIS, LiDAR, or photogrammetry equipment.
