You will contribute to strategic and detailed planning services for water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure projects, primarily supporting Sydney Water and regional clients across Australia. This role involves applying technical knowledge in hydraulic modelling and GIS platforms to assist project delivery under limited supervision. You will also support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships through technical excellence and collaboration.

The Opportunity

  • Collaborate with experts on hydraulic modelling, infrastructure compliance, and planning documentation

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering (civil, environmental, or related field) and experience in water/wastewater planning
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modelling tools (e.g., InfoWorks, EPANet) and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Mapinfo)
  • Strong communication skills, able to adapt to diverse stakeholders and contribute effectively in teams
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and meeting deadlines
  • A proactive, professional attitude with a willingness to learn, take ownership, and support team development
