As our business grows, we're seeking an organised and detail-driven Assistant Inventory Manager to join our team and keep our stock operations running smoothly.
About the Role
As the Assistant Inventory Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring product availability across our 5 stores and warehouse. You'll take ownership of inventory control processes including stocktake, ordering, pricing, and reconciliation. Working closely with our Pricing Manager, store operations and sales teams, you'll help streamline procurement, manage supplier relationships, and ensure our shelves are always stocked with the right products at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records across all product lines
- Lead and coordinate regular stocktakes and cycle counts
- Manage product procurement and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely stock replenishment
- Assist our Purchasing officers in processing and tracking stock orders, deliveries, and backorders
- Oversee accounts payable functions related to inventory purchases
- Reconcile stock discrepancies and investigate variances
- Maintain and update pricing in inventory systems in line with supplier changes
- Collaborate with store and warehouse teams to ensure efficient stock flow
- Identify and implement inventory process improvements to reduce waste and enhance efficiency
About You
- Proven experience in inventory control, stock management, or procurement is beneficial but not necessary, we will provide training.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in record-keeping.
- Experience with stocktake processes, pricing updates, and reconciliation
- Solid understanding of accounts payable and basic financial processes
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Experience in trade, retail, or plumbing/building supplies is an advantage but not essential
