Position Information

Merrylands High School is a comprehensive high school in Sydney's South West with a growing population that currently sits at over 839 students. The school is proud to celebrate its cultural and linguistic diversity, with 87.3% of students having a non-English speaking background shared across a total of 45 unique languages. The school has 7 support classes, 3 Multi-Categorical and 4 Autism classes.

Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach English Years 7-12 and approval and or willingness to teach English as an Additional Language/Dialect.
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to establish positive, respectful relationships with students, staff and families.
  • Capacity to differentiate learning experiences to engage, challenge and inspire a diverse range of learners for them to achieve academic growth.
  • Ability to use effective classroom management skills to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
