Riverstone Public School is located in Western Sydney and is part of South Creek network. The school is located on Dharug land. Our school has a student enrolment of 680. This includes 5 inclusive classes and a 2 unit preschool. Students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds with 15% of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples and 54% from an English as an Additional Language or Dialect background.
At Riverstone Public School we offer a wide range of learning experiences and focus on success for all students. Riverstone Public School teach and learn Dharug language with the support of Aboriginal teachers and community. Selection CriteriaApproval to teach Primary English as an Additional Language or Dialect or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Primary English as an Additional Language or Dialect qualification approved by the NSW Department of Education.
Demonstrated experience collaborating with staff to implement English as an Additional Language or Dialect strategies into daily classroom practice for students.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a variety of teams and build positive relationships with all members of the school community.
Successfully demonstrated implementation of culturally appropriate programs to meet the English needs of students at a range of assessed language learning phases/levels using principles and practices of evidence based EAL/D pedagogy.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
