The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our project team based in Norwest, Sydney, this a flagship data centre campus built for the future of cloud and AI. With up to 96MW of total capacity, fast go live capability, and the flexibility to support everything from air cooled racks to leading edge liquid and immersion cooling, SYD1 is designed to scale with next-generation workloads. Backed by a strong sustainability focus delivering industry leading efficiency, low water use and reduced emissions SYD1 offers a rare opportunity to be part of a high impact project shaping Australia's digital infrastructure.

In this role, you will lead construction activities for projects to support a successful outcome by:

  • Reviewing quality control measures to ensure issues are identified early and are managed quickly.
  • Preparing construction plans and programs and monitor construction progress for the area of work against program and budget and report any issues.
  • Identifying and documenting key lessons learnt and areas of opportunity post-project completion that can be shared with others and used for future project planning.
  • Assessing areas of work for hazards and collaborate with project team members to develop and implement control measures for risks of incident or injury.
  • Identifying and mitigating construction risk, communicate the project program to the team and identify key milestones for supervisors to support short range programs.
  • Managing all design and construction coordination issues, working with design consultants to confirm the design documentation.

Your Skills and Experience

  • You have 5-10 years' experience in engineering and project delivery roles, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or Data Centre projects.
  • You hold a Construction Management or Engineering degree or related qualifications.
  • You demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Prior experience in Data Centre projects is desirable but not essential.
