Life in Kingaroy

Kingaroy is a vibrant regional town with a rich history, natural beauty, and a strong sense of community. Its name comes from the Wakka Wakka word Kingaroori, meaning "Red Ant," and the red volcanic soils have supported generations of farming. Known as the peanut capital of Australia, Kingaroy has grown beyond its agricultural roots to embrace diverse crops, cattle, and a flourishing wine industry.

Kingaroy offers a high quality of life with affordable housing, excellent schools, healthcare facilities, and recreational amenities. Community events like BaconFest celebrate local produce and foster a strong sense of belonging. With ongoing development, including infrastructure upgrades and new facilities, Kingaroy is poised as a town to watch.

With modern amenities, Kingaroy's central business district features unique shops, cafes, restaurants, museums, and art galleries, as well as iconic landmarks, like the towering peanut silos and the big peanut. Surrounded by natural beauty, including the Bunya Mountains and Kingaroy to Kilkivan Rail Trail, Kingaroy blends rural charm with modern convenience, making it an ideal place to live and grow.
