We are seeking shutdown Schedulers to join our newly formed Belts team within the Pilbara. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a high-performing team, gaining exposure to complex scheduling processes and continuous improvement initiatives across Rio Tinto's world-class Pilbara operations
You will be part of a supportive and high-performing team, contributing to both personal and team development goals. Your expertise in scheduling will be instrumental in driving belt performance, supporting safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Working on a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off roster on-site, this opportunity will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you, with the flexibility to work FIFO from Perth or residentially if you are a Tom Price local.
Reporting to the Superintendent Belts, you will:
Optimise belt maintenance schedules and maximise resource utilisation to reduce external hire spend in line with current practices
Ensure the Belts Execution Team is set up to provide customers with a high-quality, timely, and safe service
Deliver planning and scheduling functionality for conveyor belts across all Pilbara operating sites
Collaborate within the planning team to share assets and personnel where possible
Act as the key link between internal and external resource requests, working with vendors to secure external resources when required
Liase with belt execution leaders to confirm upcoming resource availability
Assist the Belts Supervisor as the local subject matter expert in the Work Management process
Provide support and training to team members in the Work Management process
Contribute to weekly metrics for resource utilisation and asset utilisation
What you'll bring

Experience in planning and scheduling within a mining, construction, or heavy industry environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Primavera, or similar)
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
Ability to work collaboratively across teams to optimise resource allocation
Knowledge of fixed plant end-to-end conveyor belt maintenance.
