Porter Plant, a leading figure in the Plant and Equipment Hire industry, is currently on the lookout for an experienced and skilled Diesel Mechanic. This busy role, working mainly with civil and road maintenance equipment, is based in our busy Cambrian Hill Workshop.

As a valued member of our Heavy Mechanical team, your day will be scheduled by our Workshop Manager, allowing you to work autonomously doing what you do best … applying your craft to preventative maintenance, diagnosing breakdowns and servicing of our assets. Being a hire business we have a range of assets in which to keep you busy including Road Maintenance, Civil, Truck and a little bit of Agricultural.

What you will be responsible for

  • Timely and effective scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Fault diagnosis on various equipment
  • Servicing at required intervals
  • Working unsupervised
  • Compliance with all safety regulations

What You'll Need

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification (Essential)
  • Valid car license (HR & forklift license are desirable)
  • Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised
