Corporate Counsel

We are currently seeking a Lawyer with 2-4 years of post-graduate commercial or corporate experience to join our client, a multinational industrials company, to work on an interim-to-perm basis with their legal team concentrating on commercial contracts drafting and negotiation. Ideal talent will have a keen ability to assess legal risks and commercial drivers with the ability to communicate complex legal issues in a clear, concise and practical manner. This is a potential interim to perm role, with the initial term starting on a contract basis with the intent to convert to a full-time employee of the organization should all parties be satisfied with the arrangement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice focusing on procurement, customer sales, service agreements, and M&A activities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including NDAs, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Assess and advise on legal risks while supporting the business in their management.
- Collaborate with and coach stakeholders on legal matters and compliance procedures.
Qualifications:
- Qualified lawyer or solicitor with 1-4 years of post-admission experience.
- Experience with commercial contracts and M&A; knowledge of competition and consumer law is a plus.
- Ability to advise stakeholders on legal risks and commercial contracts effectively.
- Strong judgement, pragmatic approach, and ability to align legal advice with commercial decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying complex legal issues clearly and practically.
- Must be located in either the Sydney or Melbourne metropolitan areas.
