Practice Nurse

Aldinga Day and Night Surgery is a well-established Mixed billing practice dedicated to providing personalized, professional and quality healthcare across a wide range of medical services. We are a small team of highly trained health professionals that aim to provide comprehensive coordinated healthcare services promoting health and well-being as well as managing chronic illness.

We are currently seeking a Practice Nurse to join our established practice and provide high quality patient-focused care to our patients.

Skills and experience

Applicants should have GP clinic experience and be able to drive the nursing standards and processes with the following skills and requirements:

• Current APHRA registration as Registered Nurse (preferred) or Enrolled Nurse
• Previous experience in Chronic Disease Management and Treatment Room Procedures
• Be computer literate and possess a friendly telephone manner
• Familiar with MBS care plan and health assessment item numbers
• Able to communicate well with patients and colleagues
• Able to establish an effective recall and reminder system for patients
• Efficient time management and multi-tasking ability
• Professional presentation and attitude

Roles and responsibilities

• Prepare & support GP's in Chronic Disease Management, Health Assessments, and Medication Reviews
• Liaise with all members of the health care team to ensure services are well coordinated
• Assisting GPs with Treatment Room procedures including excision of lesions, wound dressings and removal of sutures
• Performing ECGs and other tests such as spirometry and doppler
• Immunizations
• Maintain and monitor Infection control
• Patient recalls and reminders
• Maintain accreditation standards in support with the Practice Manager and Practice Principal

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
