Manager of Operations – Box Hill RSL
Full-Time | Leadership Role | Eastern Suburbs
Box Hill RSL is one of Victoria's leading RSL Sub-Branches, proudly supporting veterans and their families while delivering a premium hospitality experience to our members and guests. Following major upgrades to our facilities, we are seeking a highly motivated Manager of Operations to lead our operational teams and drive service excellence across the entire venue.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Manager of Operations is a key member of our leadership team, responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient and financially sound operations across:
- Bistro, Bar, and Gaming
- Functions & Events
- Member Services
- Compliance & WHS
This role will suit a strategic, hands-on operator who can balance day-to-day performance with longer-term improvement initiatives, inspiring teams to deliver an outstanding member and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop Duty Managers, Department Heads and Team Leaders
- Oversee operational budgets, rostering and resource allocation
- Drive continuous improvement and implement operational best practice
- Foster a positive, professional workplace culture with a strong service focus
- Ensure compliance with WHS, risk management, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Committee to deliver strategic outcomes
- Maintain high standards of venue presentation and customer experience
About You
You are an experienced hospitality leader with a proven track record in managing large teams within a gaming, club or hotel environment. You are commercially savvy, a natural problem solver, and have a passion for delivering exceptional service.
You will bring:
- 4–6 years' senior operational management experience in hospitality, gaming or entertainment
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve financial and service goals
- Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and WHS
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as required
A bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
