Emergency Medicine Consultant / Specialist – Regional River Town

Ongoing | Full-time

Total Indicative Remuneration up to $527,117 p.a.

The role

As a Consultant/Specialist in Emergency Medicine, you will:

  • Provide high-quality clinical care in the Emergency Department
  • Work with limited or no supervision, exercising advanced clinical judgement in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day management of the ED floor
  • Respond to MET / Code Blue / Code Black as allocated on shift
  • Supervise, support and develop junior medical staff
  • Contribute to teaching, audit, quality improvement, and health promotion/community education activities

  • 32 general beds
  • 3 operating theatres

About you

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated clinical excellence in rural emergency medicine
  • Strong communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Proven leadership in improving clinical outcomes and implementing change
  • Experience implementing/reviewing best-practice clinical processes and evidence-based care
  • Ability to engage and influence others to improve Aboriginal health service delivery

Essential criteria

  • MBBS (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Must hold a specialist qualification with the following colleges - RACGP, ACRRM and ACEM and be registrable as a specialist with AHPRA
