Emergency Medicine Consultant / Specialist – Regional River Town
Ongoing | Full-time
Total Indicative Remuneration up to $527,117 p.a.
Includes Award salary, leave loading, remote call allowance, professional development, Attraction & Retention allowance, superannuation and applicable allowances.

The role
As a Consultant/Specialist in Emergency Medicine, you will:
- Provide high-quality clinical care in the Emergency Department
- Work with limited or no supervision, exercising advanced clinical judgement in a multidisciplinary environment
- Take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day management of the ED floor
- Respond to MET / Code Blue / Code Black as allocated on shift
- Supervise, support and develop junior medical staff
- Contribute to teaching, audit, quality improvement, and health promotion/community education activities

- 3 operating theatres

About you
You will bring:
- Demonstrated clinical excellence in rural emergency medicine
- Strong communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
- Proven leadership in improving clinical outcomes and implementing change
- Experience implementing/reviewing best-practice clinical processes and evidence-based care
- Ability to engage and influence others to improve Aboriginal health service delivery
Essential criteria
- MBBS (or equivalent)
- Eligible for Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Must hold a specialist qualification with the following colleges - RACGP, ACRRM and ACEM and be registrable as a specialist with AHPRA
