The Role

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Testing Technician to join our Fire Team in NSW. Based out of Auburn, the role of the Fire Testing Technician is to test and inspect Fire Detection and Panels, Sprinkler Systems, Hydrant Systems, and Pumps when required as defined under Building Code of Australia and other statutory authorities. Effectively, to undertake programmed maintenance inspections and related works as directed.

Key Competencies

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in monthly and annual testing and inspecting of fire panels, EWIS systems and fire detection as per AS
  • Strong knowledge and experience in monthly and bi-annual testing, and inspecting of sprinkler and hydrant systems (including fire pumps) as per AS
  • Knowledge of bi-annual and annual testing of fire doors, portable, and passive assets would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of monthly, bi-annual and annual testing of special hazards and gas suppression systems advantageous
  • Minimum of 2 years industry experience
  • A strong knowledge of all relevant Australian Standards
  • Be a proactive member of the team and have ability to work unsupervised in a team environment
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and well presented
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and complete work in an efficient manner
  • Willing to undergo a national police background check
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices is essential
  • Valid driver's license
