The Opportunity
The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB) is seeking an Apprentice Horticulturist to join our Cemetery Worker Grounds team. This is a three-year opportunity, during which the successful candidate will undertake a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens while gaining hands-on experience across our beautifully maintained grounds.
As an apprentice, you'll be involved in planting and maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, and garden beds, as well as assisting with landscaping projects across MCB sites.
While we welcome applications from all interested candidates, we encourage First Nations people and individuals under the age of 25 to apply.
This recruitment pool will be used to fill one immediate Apprentice Horticulturist position based at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park, Padbury.
In addition, the pool may be used to fill future vacancies across other MCB sites — including Fremantle, Karrakatta and other sites as they arise over the next 12 months.

As a self-funded statutory authority, the MCB manage seven cemeteries and memorial parks across Greater Perth, offering meaningful spaces for remembrance, reflection, and connection.
