CAMILLA is searching for an eager and passionate
Design Assistant
to join our colourful tribe full-time and support our fast-paced womenswear and childrenswear design teams in the development of product from conception to sales samples.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a creative, collaborative environment and is excited by the opportunity to work across both our women's and childrenswear collections.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Supporting the Design Team in the development of seasonal collections across all channels – retail, online, and wholesale – for both Northern and Southern Hemisphere markets.
  • Conducting inspirational research and assisting with concept development, fabrications, trims, and runway trends.
  • Creating and maintaining seasonal line sheets, fabric and trim development binders, and design libraries.
  • Producing technical sketches and mock-up prints in preparation for sketch review meetings.
  • Preparing and maintaining tech packs within the critical path.
  • Reviewing lab dips, strike-offs, and trims with direction from Designers, providing clear and accurate comments.
  • Preparing fabrication and trim specification packages for Garment Technicians.
  • Providing detailed trim and embroidery information as required.
  • Attending fit meetings, assisting with fit comments, and ensuring accurate notations and follow-up.
  • Updating Centric Master Sheets and ensuring all product information is current and accurate.
  • Checking in proto samples and preparing for range and design review meetings.
  • Creating and distributing design recaps after key meetings to communicate updates to Product, Tech, and Production teams.
  • Preparing design presentations for internal and external review meetings.
  • Driving self-development and contributing creative ideas to the design process.

Experience desired:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Design Assistant or similar role.
  • Fashion Design or Graphics Diploma/Degree.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong technical understanding of fabrications, trims, and print processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a creative eye for design and presentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a retail, design, or production environment highly regarded.
  • A passion for fashion and creativity, with a love for bold design and storytelling.
