You could complete a Certificate III Engineering - Fabrication Trade qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and our host employers.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:
- Perform planned maintenance and repairs of fabrication equipment
- Mark out jobs, set up machines, prepare materials, tools and fixtures for the fabrication of large and diverse industrial equipment
- Assist in the welding, cutting and marking of fabrication sheets
- Apply fabrication, forming and shaping techniques
- Use a combination of hand and power tools
- Work with qualified tradesmen in a workshop environment
What you'll bring to the table…
To be successful, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:
- Commitment to both on and off the job training.
- Show a willingness to learn and enthusiasm towards the apprenticeship and learning opportunity
- Genuine interest in the Fabrication trade
- Ability to work in small or large groups
- Good, clear communication skills, both verbal and written
Mandatory Requirements
- Current drivers licence, or close to obtaining
- WHS Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical, including audiometry, spirometry, drug and alcohol screening and functional capacity assessment.
