About Us

Roadside Civil Solutions is a leading name in plant hire and civil construction across Queensland and beyond. Our plant hire branch supplies top-quality machines and operators to major infrastructure, civil, mining, and development projects.

We run a serious fleet — and we don't like it sitting still. Our goal is to have 30+ pieces of gear out at all times, and right now, we need a results-driven professional to make it happen.

The Role

We're looking for a Business Development Manager who's not afraid to get out there, shake hands, make calls, and hunt down opportunities. You'll be constantly looking for new clients, projects, and partnerships to keep our machines working and our pipeline full.

This isn't a "wait for the phone to ring" role — this is boots on the ground, phone in hand, and eyes on the next deal at all times.

This role will require regular travel and a willingness to stay away from home some weeks to chase and secure interstate opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively secure new plant hire contracts across civil, mining, and construction sectors.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with project managers, procurement teams, and site supervisors.
  • Identify upcoming tenders, EOIs, and project starts before the competition.
  • Maintain utilisation targets for a fleet of 30+ machines.
  • Represent Roadside Civil at meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Travel within QLD and interstate to meet clients and secure work.

About You

  • Proven track record in plant hire, civil construction, or equipment sales.
  • Strong network within construction civil and mining industries.
  • Self-motivated with a relentless drive to hit targets.
  • Confident communicator and skilled negotiator.
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home to chase business opportunities.
  • Knows machinery and understands how projects run from start to finish.
