The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor to join our team at QCoal Northern Hub. Situated a mere 1-hour drive from Bowen and the beautiful Whitsundays, the position offers either FIFO from Brisbane or DIDO from Townsville, Mackay or anywhere in-between. The site offers a positive workplace while getting the opportunity to develop yourself in the surveying space.

About The Role

Working a 8/6 roster and reporting to the Technical Services Manager your duties will include:   

• Provide survey support to the production and mine planning teams through pick-ups, set-outs and other in-field work
• Capturing and reporting on survey data
• Meeting safety standards in the work you complete
• Conduct weekly and adhoc mine compliance reporting
• Complete on-site drone surveys/scans/photos/incident reports
• Conduct EOM pickups and volume calculations
• Provide EOM reconciliation
• Develop positive relationships with the teams on site

About you

• Experience in a Mine Surveying environment
• Keen and positive attitude
• Experience working at a large scale open cut mining operation
• Tertiary qualification in surveying or equivalent
• Understanding of mining principles, design concepts and operations (particularly their relation to survey activities)
• Proficient in relevant survey software including Maptek Vulcan & Point Studio
• Proficient in photogrammetry software and techniques
• CASA certified (RePL and AROC)
