  • Upskill on the jobwith two years of supported teaching experience, or

Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design, with an enrolment of 790 students, including 30% from a non-English speaking background, has highly motivated staff, students, and parents who are committed to optimising learning outcomes in a creative, innovative, diverse, and caring environment. Currently, 5% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students.

The school focuses on academic achievement, offering a comprehensive pattern of student study with a specialist stream in Visual Arts and Design, where student enrolment is through portfolio and interview. We also offer an academic selective class, as well as other opportunities for High Potential and Gifted students. The school fosters the wellbeing of all students to allow them to flourish, ensuring that every student is cared for, valued, and known.

We also have a support unit for students with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities (22 students). The school provides many opportunities for all students to achieve, including a strong gifted and talented program and a broad range of extracurricular activities such as band, choir, Public Speaking, Debating, Dance, Music Ensembles, and Drama.

Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach Technology Mandatory 7-8, Industrial Technology - Timber, Design and Technology and willingness to teach Computer Technology or Engineering or preparedness to retrain by undertaking further study or via on–the job experience supported by the NSW Department of Education.

  2. Demonstrated ability to provide engaging and challenging differentiated lesson and programs to meet diverse student learning and wellbeing needs, including gifted and talented students and students with additional learning and support needs.

  3. Proven ability to meaningfully integrate information communication technologies (ICT) into teaching and learning to extend and engage student learning in a specialised Visual Arts and Design school.

  • An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply. More information can be found at

If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of approved study or on the job experience (must be completed within 24 months).
