Our Neighbourhood Centre programs, activities and events are an integral aspect of what we do. A Neighbourhood Centre Coordinator to lead and implement the neighbourhood centre programs is vital to their success. The position of Neighbourhood Centre Coordinator will be vacant in December 2025, and we are looking for the right person to join our team.

What You Will Do

In this role you will support our community to connect in a place they feel like they belong. You will lead a team who support the neighbourhood centre and work with them to provide innovative, caring and person-centred responses across our Thrift Shop, Play Group, Social Groups and Outreach activities.

Through the role, you will also create a welcoming and inclusive environment for our volunteers, working with them as they contribute to the organisation's mission. The role requires a level of reporting responsibilities and offers opportunities to work with our community face to face. Community engagement is key, and you will spend time listening to others creating opportunities for social connections and inclusion. You will assist with training the next generation of community workers through facilitating student placement opportunities and working with education institutions.

What we are looking for

Our key selection criteria include:

· Relevant qualification in Social Sciences, Human Services, Social Work or Community Development along with demonstrated work and life experiences.

· Experience and knowledge in managing Neighbourhood Centre funding (or similar) and program reporting

· Leadership skills and experience in managing a diverse team including problem solving and conflict resolution

· Experience working with and coordinating volunteers

· Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders

· Knowledge and experience in coordinating and managing events and ability to attend events and activities outside of standard business hours

· Eligible to obtain a National Police Check, Blue Card

The role collaborates with the Centre Manager, other Senior Coordinators, and the board of management to achieve this.
