We are looking for expressions of interest from a range of planning professionals – graduates, mid-career, or those in senior roles looking for the next step. So if you are a qualified customer-focused planning officer who may have urban or regional planning experience, we would love to hear from you

We hope to tailor a small but mighty planning services team to support our Development Services business unit, so we are also open to considering applicants who may not have years of experience but have demonstrated technical skill, a problem-solving approach, and are passionate about providing great customer service.

Being a remote regional town on the south coast of WA, this is a great opportunity for those seeking a sea-change and wanting to further develop their professional practice, and who seek to support and guide community-centred sustainable development. You will have variety in each week and be part of a great Development Services team in a beautiful part of the world. We are open to considering candidates who are not able to work full-time or have other flexible work requirements. Those with substantial local government administration experience that is relevant to planning but do not hold a tertiary qualification are also encouraged to submit an expression of interest.

Salary Range: $70,689.00 to $115,000.00, commensurate with the applicant's qualifications and the specific position. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline only; the final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's experience and credentials.

A range of salary, housing, and relocation benefits are available to successful candidates

Permanent staff are entitled to:

  • 5 weeks annual leave per year
  • The option of one Rostered Day Off (RDO) every 4 weeks in exchange for working 40 hours per week.
  • Minimum of 12% superannuation employer contribution
  • Superannuation co-contribution offered to a maximum of 5%
  • Free access to the Bay of Isles Leisure Centre (pool & gym)
