We are looking for a Full Time Dental Assistant to join our team in our busy, modern, boutique dental practice in Bondi Junction.

The successful candidate will be filling a well-rounded & varied role; performing all aspects of general dental assisting as well as some minor reception duties when needed. You will also be integral to the sterilization of instruments, infection control & general hygiene of the practice.

In this role you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

  • Providing chairside assistance to the dentist throughout procedures. This includes clearing the patient's mouth of saliva or dental materials using suction or other appropriate equipment.
  • Cleaning and sterilising instruments before and after treatment; completing maintenance tasks daily to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with patients and clients
  • Prepare patients & facilities for dental treatment as directed
  • Maintaining the clinic environment to be clean and presentable at all times
  • Working within a team to provide high quality patient care during every shift

Skills and experience:

The successful applicant will bring to the practice the following attributes:

  • A minimum of 12 months experience as a dental assistant. Surgical and cosmetic experience are highly valued.
  • A dedicated and collaborative team player who works well with others
  • Excellent professional presentation, highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to be punctual and reliable
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Will be service-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Have a drive to learn and flourish within the role
  • Be a self-motivated individual who takes initiative and has an eye for detail

The position is full-time (4 days a week) and full weekday availability is essential.

About us:

We are a small, independently-owned dental practice which has seen a lot of growth since moving into our new space a few years ago. We believe in the importance of one-on-one care with our patients and always aim to accommodate them where possible. Many of our patients have been coming to see our dentists for many years, and our long-term staff have developed trustworthy relationships with our patients which we are very proud to maintain and build upon.

We are located in the heart of Bondi Junction and are a 5-minute walk away from the Bondi Junction interchange where buses and trains come in. There is also commuter parking available in the Westfield, and several parking stations nearby.

Because we are a smaller team, we have a close-knit staff who work very closely together and are looking for someone who can join our team and help us to maintain our workplace culture which is built around supporting each other and our patients to provide high-quality dental care.
