Position Overview

  • Position Status: Workshop Supervisor – Caravan & RV Workshop
  • Reporting To: Managing Director
  • Liaise With: Workshop technicians, admin team, parts suppliers, and customers
  • Expected Hours: 38hrs with overtime opportunities
  • Pay/Rate: Negotiable based on experience and leadership capability

Role Summary

This hands-on leadership role involves managing the day-to-day operations of our workshop while completing technical work. You'll ensure repairs are completed to a high standard, jobs stay on schedule, and the team works safely and efficiently. Your ability to lead from the front will directly support great outcomes for both staff and customers.


Responsibilities

  1. Start each day with a team briefing and job allocation
  2. Supervise daily operations across all workshop jobs
  3. Assist in carrying out technical repairs, servicing, and diagnostics on caravans and RVs
  4. Ensure all work meets safety standards and manufacturer specifications
  5. Maintain workshop equipment and ensure tools are fit for use
  6. Manage job workflow using job sheets or workshop software
  7. Monitor job progress, assist with problem-solving, and support technicians
  8. Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to junior staff
  9. Communicate clearly with the office about job status, delays, or parts needed
  10. Order or liaise on required parts and ensure stock is managed
  11. Uphold a clean, organised, and compliant workshop environment
  12. Complete or check quality control before handover to the client
  13. Represent the business professionally in all client interactions
  14. Follow and enforce all health and safety protocols
  15. Lead by example and contribute to a positive team culture
  16. Assist with recruitment, training, and performance reviews as needed

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • 95% of jobs completed on time and to quality standard
  • Less than 2% callback rate on completed work
  • Workshop kept clean, safe, and compliant 100% of the time
  • Accurate job tracking and updates provided to admin team daily
  • Team utilisation target: 90% of paid hours on chargeable work
