- Hybrid working model (Melbourne based only)
- Help guide students towards their future
- Starting on November 26
At Open Universities Australia (OUA), we believe that quality education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where they are or their prior educational experiences. When we excel at our jobs, we change lives every day. Our values are the compass guiding our journey: we act for our customers, take care of each other, and we work to continuously improve.
Job DescriptionWe're looking for Student Advisors who can become trusted guides for people navigating their study journey. You'll be the first point of contact for prospective students — listening, supporting and helping them make confident, informed decisions about their future.
You'll be part of a close-knit, cross-functional team of around 10 Advisors. Together, you'll work across inbound and outbound calls, emails, and chat to support students through every stage of their journey — from first enquiry to enrolment and beyond.
What your day-to-day might look like
You'll play an important role in helping students feel informed, supported and empowered. That might include:
Speaking with prospective students over phone, email or chat to understand their needs
Helping them find the right study option and guiding them through the enrolment process
Answering questions and providing support along the way
Collaborating with your team to share knowledge, support each other, and improve the way we work
You'll build your knowledge and confidence through our training program, starting with outbound sales. Along the way, you'll be supported by our Capability Coaches and your team.
What we're looking for
We're after people who are friendly, curious and great at connecting with others. You'll thrive in this role if:
You're confident reaching out to new people and enjoy helping others
You're available to work on a rotating roster between Monday and Saturday (with some Sunday shifts at the end of study periods)
You have strong communication skills — over the phone and in writing
You're a great listener, empathetic and solution-focused
You're comfortable using computers and can pick up new systems quickly
You're adaptable and eager to learn
How we support you
We know that when our people thrive, so do our students. That's why we offer:
A full training program to set you up for success
Ongoing learning, coaching and development opportunities
Clear pathways to grow — into experienced advisor, coach or leadership roles
Subsidised study opportunities, with many of our Advisors moving into other areas of OUA like marketing, data science, business analysis or tech
What else you'll enjoy
We're proud to offer:
Quarterly sales incentives, plus annual company performance bonuses
Not-for-profit salary packaging (including novated leasing)
Calm subscription, as part of our wellbeing focus
Workation leave: work from anywhere for 10 days a year
OUA is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, reflecting the diversity of the marketplace we serve. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if they don't meet all the requirements listed. We value unique perspectives and experiences that can contribute to our mission of helping students transform their lives.
