Allied Health opportunity in a collaborative hospital team
Join QEII Jubilee Hospital as a Speech Pathologist (HP3) with permanent part-time (38 hrs/fortnight) and temporary part-time (53.2 hrs/fortnight, Feb 2026–Feb 2027) opportunities. You'll deliver evidence-based speech pathology care to adults with communication and swallowing disorders across inpatient, outpatient and hospital-in-the-home settings, supported by a collaborative Allied Health team.
About This Role
Your new role:
In this role, you will provide high-quality speech pathology assessment, intervention and management for adult patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. You'll work within an interprofessional team, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement under supervision, contribute to discharge planning, and support service quality through education, data collection and improvement activities.
You Will
- Deliver assessment, intervention and evaluation for adult speech and swallowing disorders
- Manage an allocated caseload using effective prioritisation and time management
- Apply evidence-based practice and ethical standards under clinical supervision
- Contribute to discharge planning across inpatient and community pathways
- Participate in interprofessional meetings, case conferences and team activities
About You
You are a motivated speech pathologist with strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centred, evidence-based care. You work well within teams, manage competing priorities effectively, and are keen to grow your clinical capability.
You Will Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology with SPA eligibility
- Skills in adult communication and dysphagia assessment and management
- Ability to apply clinical judgement with increasing independence
- Strong written and verbal communication within interprofessional teams

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
