The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of civil construction projects. This role is critical to the business, as it directly contributes to securing new projects and driving company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare estimates
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services
  • Attend pre-tender meetings and site inspections
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop estimates
  • Prepare tender submissions and proposals for both government and private clients
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, sourcing competitive quotes
  • Perform risk analysis and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
  • Monitor project costs and variations throughout the life of the project

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in estimating for civil construction projects, including roads, drainage, earthworks, and utilities
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Benchmark, Expert Estimation, or similar)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of local government tender processes and industry regulations
