SIMON JOHNSON is the retail face of Calendar Cheese Company, Australia's leading importer and distributor of domestic and international specialty cheese, caviar, and premium dry goods, servicing premium retailers, restaurants & airlines, across Australia. We offer an extensive selection of quality cheeses, caviar and dry goods sourced from the best dairies, affineurs and producers around the world. In our retail stores we offer a unique shopping experience with walk-in fromageries or cheese counters and an extensive range of quality food products and homewares sourced from with-in Australia and across the globe.

About the Role

SIMON JOHNSON Retail Assistants are people who have a passion for food and customer service. They are able to demonstrate food retail experience, with an understanding of operating systems.

Key Responsibilities will include:

- The ability to provide exceptional customer service at all times - where the customer will have a memorable and meaningful experience in our store.

o Help build the customer base through high levels of customer service

o Provide extensive product knowledge

- Ensure the store is looking its best at all times:

o Ensure all ensure all work areas, machinery, furniture, utensils, equipment are cleaned and well maintained

o Work to company QA standards

- Stock products on shelves and labelled correctly

- Operate POS registers and calculate change manually if required

- Accurately process online orders, picking, packing and dispatch

Skills and Experience:

- Prior experience in food retail will be viewed favourably

o Experience in customer service-oriented roles

o POS experience is an advantage

- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, TEAMS and Outlook).

- Strong work ethic with Saturday availability

- Organisational & time management capabilities with a focus on multitasking and reprioritising

- Excellent communication, both written and verbal

- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines

- Positive attitude, proactive and shows initiative and works well under pressure

- A can-do, team-focused attitude is essential for success

- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to liaise confidently with customers and team members – excellent customer service skills

- Attention to detail - Accurate key entry skills
