The Role
As a member of the Executive team, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead Warrigal's technology and digital transformation strategic endeavours. This role will be responsible for building organisational capability and resilience through innovative IT systems, infrastructure, and governance frameworks. It will play a critical role in enhancing service delivery, supporting compliance, and ensuring cyber security and operational efficiency across the organisation.
Based ideally in the Illawarra, this is a key opportunity to guide a Not For Profit's passion for outcomes through developing and strengthening its foundations, innovation and next stage of digital maturity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IT strategy aligned to Warrigal's broader strategic objectives across the sphere of service delivery.
- Lead a transparent, supportive and people-first approach to IT governance and innovation
- Deliver a contemporary, reliable and secure IT infrastructure
- Build and foster a high-performing team with strong collaboration and cross-functional engagement
- Ensure robust data governance, cybersecurity and vendor management practices
- Champion digital transformation with a focus on service quality, resource optimisation and resident experience
- Engage actively with frontline care staff and operations to ensure IT solutions are practical and responsive to user needs
- Support change management and continuous improvement aligned with the Warrigal Way
What You Will Bring
We are seeking a strategic and emotionally intelligent leader who combines technical credibility with a strong focus on people, leadership and service.
You will bring:
- Proven success as a CIO or senior IT executive in a complex, service-based environment—experience in aged care, healthcare or NFP sectors is highly regarded
- An understanding of aged care technologies and frontline operational needs across the multiple service streams
- Deep expertise in IT strategy, infrastructure, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and data analytics
- Ability to simplify complex ideas and foster organisational understanding of IT's value
- A collaborative and transparent leadership style—approachable, supportive, and visible across sites
- A commitment to a strong, positive culture, team development and staff wellbeing.
- Demonstrated alignment with Warrigal's values, including a people-first mindset and a genuine passion for using technology to improve the lives of others
