Future Business Partner – Tax & Advisory

We're a boutique Chartered Accounting firm in Sydney, specialising in tax, advisory, and business services for business owners, property investors, and family groups. We believe in clarity, confidence, and collaboration — and we're looking for someone who wants to grow into a true business partner.

Role Description

As a Future Business Partner, you'll:

  • Manage a portfolio of individual and business clients across tax and business services
  • Prepare and review tax returns, BAS, FBT, and financial statements
  • Provide first-line support and advice to clients, helping them navigate tax and compliance issues
  • Meet clients directly, building relationships and trust from day one
  • Assist with advisory projects (structuring, cash flow, growth strategies) as they arise
  • Oversee workflow and support junior staff as needed
  • Contribute ideas to improve processes, client service, and firm growth

Career Progression Pathway

Year 1 – Assistant Client Manager / Supervisor Duties

  • Hands-on client work: compliance, tax returns, BAS, financials
  • Begin managing smaller client portfolios directly
  • Sit in client meetings and start building trusted relationships

Year 2–3 – Portfolio Growth & Leadership

  • Take ownership of a growing client portfolio
  • Lead client meetings with confidence and provide first-level advisory
  • Mentor junior accountants and manage workflows
  • Begin sharing in growth rewards as portfolio expands

Year 4+ – Equity Partner

  • Formal step into equity partnership with shared ownership
  • Shape the direction of the firm alongside the Principal
  • Earn from both client service and your stake in the business
  • Build a practice you can truly call your own

Who You Are

  • A Supervisor / Assistant Client Manager / Registered Tax Agent with at least 4–6 years' public practice experience
  • Strong in compliance and confident in tax advisory basics
  • Comfortable managing client relationships, not just preparing files
  • Entrepreneurial — you've thought about starting your own firm, but want a supported path
  • Driven by growth, ownership, and long-term success rather than just salary
  • Australian citizens or permanent residents only
  • CPA or CA qualification required
