About the role

Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor at our Cairns Depot, this role is based in Cairns primarily for one of our key clients. You will be responsible for the delivery of steel and reinforcing mesh, as well as loading and unloading products.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Transport products and materials

  • Provide excellence in customer service and professionalism, working with the client to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Inspect vehicles daily and report all mechanical faults and safety issues

  • Load and unload products onto and off vehicles, including some manual handling

  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles to a high standard

  • Operate in line with road safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedure

This is a permanent full-time position, working Monday to Friday (with occasional weekend work).

About you

We are seeking experienced HR Crane truck drivers or those who are willing to upskill. Training will be provided for the right candidates.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a truck driver

  • Experience in the construction industry favourable

  • Ability to work autonomously, flexible, excellent communication skills, problem solve and show initiative.

  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly

  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations

Qualifications

Hold or willing to obtain the below (company provided):

  • HR truck driving licence

  • CV Crane Ticket

  • DG Ticket

  • Forklift Driving license

  • White Card
