About the role

G&M Ag Spray, a leading agricultural services provider in Griffith NSW 2680, is seeking a full-time Spray rig operator/ Mechanic to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of self-propelled spray rigs, ensuring efficient and effective application of crop protection products to support the farming needs of the local community.

What you'll be doing

  • Operate and maintain a range of spray rigs and equipment to apply crop protection products on local farms
  • Perform routine inspections, servicing and repairs to keep the spray rigs in optimal working condition
  • Ensure accurate and safe application of chemicals in compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with the farm customers to understand their specific requirements and deliver tailored spraying solutions
  • Maintain detailed records of spraying activities, chemical usage and equipment maintenance
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of spraying operations and equipment

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated experience as a spray rig operator and/or agricultural mechanic, preferably in the irrigated or broadacre farming sectors
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of spray rigs and equipment
  • Proficient in the safe handling, storage and application of crop protection chemicals
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to deliver high-quality spraying services
  • A relevant qualification in agriculture, horticulture or a related field would be highly regarded
