About the Role
Sydney Water is seeking a hands-on and strategic Team Leader to lead and optimise plant, equipment, and fleet services across Network Maintenance and Network Operations.
This is a key leadership role within our Customer Experience group in which you will play an important role in service delivery, evaluation, and improvement, while fostering a safe, agile, and high-performing team culture.
You will lead a team of up to 10 people and work closely with internal stakeholders, outsourced providers, and supply chain partners to ensure services meet operational, financial, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the introduction, delivery, and continuous improvement of depot and fleet services.
- Optimise plant and fleet allocation and maintenance to support workplan delivery.
- Provide expert input into business cases for fleet and equipment procurement.
- Manage relationships with Fleet and Tenancy Services to align services with business needs.
- Champion safety, wellness, and change management across the team.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in depot resource coordination.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality standards.
About You:
You are a collaborative leader with a strong background in fleet and depot management, and a passion for driving operational efficiency and team development.
You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership in plant and fleet management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Experience in logistics environments and writing business cases.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor teams.
- Expertise in shared services and business administration.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Medium Rigid Driver Licence (desired).
