Company Overview

MediPaq Pty Ltd is a trusted and community-oriented contract pharmaceutical packaging and logistics company. The company provides complete packaging, storage, and distribution solutions that comply with strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and quality assurance standards. The company specialises in primary and secondary packaging, repackaging, labelling, blister packing, sachet filling, kit assembly, warehousing, and distribution for Australian and international pharmaceutical brands.

With a strong commitment to public health, community wellbeing, and environmental responsibility, MediPaq maintains the highest standards of trust, workplace safety, and compliance. Every operation whether packaging, warehousing, or maintenance is guided by the principles of quality, reliability, and accountability. Within this framework, the Maintenance Planner plays a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and compliant operations across MediPaq's clean-room packaging and warehouse facility.

Role Purpose

The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all maintenance activities required to keep MediPaq's pharmaceutical packaging and facility infrastructure operating safely and efficiently. The role ensures that maintenance strategies support both production reliability and regulatory compliance. Consistent with the operational scope of the company, this position focuses on developing maintenance schedules, managing technical documentation, coordinating resources, and optimising equipment uptime not performing the physical maintenance itself.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all packaging, labelling, filling, sealing, and clean-room environmental systems.

  • Coordinate maintenance planning for machinery used in blister packing, bottle filling, sachet sealing, shrink wrapping, and secondary assembly lines.
  • Liaise with production, quality, and engineering teams to align maintenance timelines with batch scheduling, equipment validation, and GMP documentation requirements.
  • Prepare detailed work orders, job plans, resource lists, and materials requirements to support efficient execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor asset performance indicators such as equipment downtime, maintenance backlog, and schedule compliance, using these metrics to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Plan and coordinate external service providers for equipment calibration, HVAC servicing, and clean-room validation, ensuring adherence to WHS and site-entry requirements.
  • Maintain the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for all plant and facility assets, ensuring traceable, GMP-compliant maintenance history.
  • Conduct and participate in root-cause analysis and corrective-action planning following unplanned equipment breakdowns or recurring performance issues.
  • Coordinate spare-parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock of validated and approved components while maintaining cost control and storage efficiency.
  • Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget, forecasting servicing and replacement requirements for key plant assets.
  • Uphold MediPaq's WHS, environmental, and quality standards by ensuring maintenance tasks are executed safely and within validated parameters.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site to enhance machine efficiency, uptime, and compliance reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external contractors to ensure maintenance plans are understood, executed, and documented accurately.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience as a Maintenance Planner or Maintenance Scheduler in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably within pharmaceutical, food, or medical packaging sectors.
  • Must have a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Maintenance Planning, or a related technical field, or 3 years of work experience in the nominated occupation and strong understanding of maintenance planning methodologies, including preventive, predictive, and reliability-centred maintenance.
  • Experience planning for automated machinery, clean-room systems, and climate-controlled facilities.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software and maintenance planning tools, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Sound understanding of GMP, TGA, and quality assurance frameworks, with a strong commitment to compliance.
  • Proven ability to read engineering drawings, technical manuals, and equipment specifications to develop accurate maintenance strategies.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills with internal teams and external service providers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and environmental standards.
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Maintenance Planning, or a related technical field.
  • Preference will be given to Australian citizens and permanent residents.

Benefits and Opportunities

  • Competitive salary range between AUD 70,000 – 80,000 per annum plus Superannuation, commensurate with experience.
  • A value-driven workplace that prioritises trust, safety, and regulatory excellence.
  • Opportunity to work in a high-compliance environment with modern packaging and clean-room infrastructure.
  • Career growth and development through exposure to advanced maintenance systems and continuous improvement programs.
  • Stable, community-minded employer with a strong reputation in Australia's pharmaceutical packaging industry.
