An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and self-motivated clinician from one of the following allied health disciplines: Psychology, Speech Pathology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy to contribute to the important work of our department Student Support Services (SSS) workforce.

This is a full-time, ongoing AH3 position in the Hume Merri-bek Area. This position is currently based with the Hume North team.

Student Support Services (SSS) help children and young people overcome learning barriers and reach their full potential. Staff collaborate with schools, students and families to improve learning, engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion through targeted strategies and specialised support. They build teacher capability, guide principals on wellbeing and learning approaches, and manage assessments and interventions for complex cases. Working in multidisciplinary Area-based teams - including psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers and/or occupational therapists - they support individuals, groups and school communities.

Mandatory Requirements

Applications will be considered from candidates from the following disciplines who meet the mandatory requirements outlined below:

  • Psychologist: A graduate or post-graduate qualification in psychology and full Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Speech Pathologist: A graduate or post-graduate degree in speech pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Social Worker: A graduate or post-graduate degree in social work or equivalent and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Occupational Therapist: A graduate or post-graduate qualification in occupational therapy and full Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Applicants must possess a current Australian Driver's Licence and a valid Working with Children Check.

Job Location:

This position is based in the Hume Merri-bek Area. There is a requirement to travel and undertake work in schools as part of service delivery. SSS staff have access to departmental fleet vehicles.
