Parramatta's newest deli-style sandwich spot, Matty's Sandwiches, is looking for a skilled, reliable, and efficient Kitchen Hand / Kitchen Prep team member. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who loves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in producing high-quality food.

You'll be responsible for a wide range of duties, including preparing meats, salads, schnitzels, sandwich fillings, and supporting smooth kitchen operations throughout service.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and portioning ingredients, including meats, salads, and sandwich fillings
  • Knife-work: slicing, cutting, trimming, prepping meats and vegetables
  • Preparing schnitzel (crumbing, frying, batching, etc.)
  • Completing salad prep and maintaining fresh ingredient batches throughout the day
  • Assembling and building deli-style sandwiches
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
  • Supporting kitchen flow during busy periods
  • Running sections of the kitchen when required
  • Working with and supporting a small team
  • Assisting with delegating simple prep tasks to junior team members
  • Following food safety and hygiene standards at all times

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 2 year kitchen experience
  • Strong knife skills (meat slicing, veg chopping, portioning)
  • Experience with schnitzel prep, meat cutting, and deli-style prep
  • Ability to make and follow recipes, portion standards, and maintain consistency
  • Reliable, quick, and able to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Great communicator who works well with a small team
  • Well-presented with strong hygiene standards
  • Available weekdays
