We are seeking highly capable and values- driven leaders for appointment as Chief Superintendent - Queensland Fire and Rescue. 

Your opportunity

As Chief Superintendent, you will lead operational and strategic delivery across your assigned region or function, ensuring QFD"s readiness to respond to fires, rescues and major emergencies. You will:

  • Lead complex operational responses and large-scale emergency events, including multi-agency and cross-juristictional incidents. 
  • Build and maintain workforce capability, capacity and performance through proactive leadership and development. 
  • Provide expert strategic advice to the Assistant Commissioner and Executive Leadership Team on operational priorities and emerging risks. 
  • Represent QFD on state, national and interagency committees, forums and incident management operations. 
What you'll bring
  • Extensive operational experience in firefighting, incident management, and fire prevention. 
  • Proven leadership at a senior operational level, with the ability to manage people, resources and outcomes in complex environments. 
  • High-level communication and strategic engagement skills, including cross-agency collaboration and stakeholder influence. 
  • Strong understanding of Queensland's emergency management and disaster response frameworks. 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, workforce development, and building a culture of integrity, inclusion and service. 
  • Mandatory requirements as outlined in the QFD Chief Superintendent Written Application Pack.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in management, leadership or emergency services (highly regarded).
